First-Aid Kits

The Odin’s Fund mission is to provide first aid training free of charge to as many canine handlers possible, wherever there is interest and demand for Dr. McNamara’s seminar, and to develop and make available high quality, needs-based K-9 emergency first aid kits available to canine handlers throughout the country.

Dr. McNamara was alerted to the need for a dedicated K-9 first aid kit when he spoke with a handler who lacked the equipment he needed to treat his injured K-9 partner. Spurred by this incident, Dr. McNamara developed a kit that is exclusively for K-9 use, readily identifiable in a distinctive color (not red, which is usually used for human first aid kits), which has everything in one convenient carrying case, and is clearly labeled.

Dr. McNamara’s kits are intended to provide the necessary supplies and equipment for K-9 handlers to initiate emergency care to stabilize their partners and prep them for transport to a vet.
